Hey Andrea, It's a muscovy duck. I used to have some of those in my duck flock when I was growing up. They are interesting ducks, and among the best breeders. It's a domestic duck, so someone dumped this one off there. They have up to 25 ducklings at one time. They are good flight birds. I'd hate to see these interbreed with the wild mallards, though. That's the bad part about people leaving their domestic ducks there. Crystal Springs is one of our favorite spots! Great pics! --Karli
