Big Grandparent weekend
The plan was to spend the weekend celebrating Grandpa John and Grandma Diane's 30th Wedding Anniversary, John's 60th Birthday and Diane's 58th Birthday all in one festive weekend, and as an added bonus Sonja and Don showed up too. VK got her share of G'parents time. We all went to a fine lunch at Caprial's in Sellwood. It was truly sensational, festive and plain old fun. VK enjoyed being passed around the table and even chowed on a piece of bread (as much as a 7 month old with 2 teeth can chow.

Whistler B.C.
Business travel with the family isn't too darn bad, especially to a destination like Whistler B.C. Chris had business there and everyone decided to go. It was quite an eventful trip with VK being exceptionally wonderful on the flight there (she was having fun in the turbulence not knowing to be scared like all the adults), at the airport in the customs line with the hundreds of japanese and korean people who seemed to adore her (I am still wondering why pictures of someone elses baby is interesting, but what the heck they just got of a really long plane ride?!?!?!), and the drive to Whistler from Vancouver B.C., which is supposed to take ~2.5 hours but took us over 4 due to a terrible accident on the sea to sky highway.
We stayed at a pretty amazing hotel right next to the gondolas that take people up to either Whistler or Blackcomb mountains. We did plenty of wandering and people watching, at at some of the fine dining/drinking establishments, and generally enjoyed Whistler. VK even got to go swiming in the outdoor heated pool.
